Should a Christian be supporting or celebrating Halloween?
Regrettably the popularity of Halloween is growing exponentially. Sadly, even many Christians do not appear to see the evil inherent in this custom and have almost tried to “Christianize” it!
There are enough articles out there to tell you what Halloween is all about and there is no question as to where it comes from and that it something a Christian should have nothing to do with. It is totally dark!
The Bible tells us to put away deeds of darkness (Rom.13:12) “The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day (of the Lord’s return) has drawn near. So, let us lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armour of light.” (Romans 13:11-12)
The Bible also tells us that light has nothing in common with darkness (2 Cor. 6:14). “For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?” (2 Cor 6:14)
I ask the question again, … is celebrating a dark custom something a child of the Light should be doing? Absolutely not!
So, I urge you, if you are a true Bible-believing Christian, abstain from all appearance of evil. Do not support the practice. Don’t attempt to justify the celebration of this demonic, worldly, commercialized and evil custom. There are no grey areas. A committed follower of the Lord Jesus Christ should never celebrate or support Halloween.
